Scheduling Classes

(Once again, nothing to do with scheduling; yet how I relax after scheduling. Hanging out with friends)

Oh my dear Jesus, I was so freaking nervous about scheduling for classes. You see, I’m one of ‘those people’ who looks at the schedule as soon as it comes out. I want to know what classes I can take, who my teachers might be and so on and so forth so I can be organized right down to the T. Usually [read: the last two semesters] it hasn’t been hard trying to find which classes I need to take, what time they’re offered and who the teachers are. This semester is a completely different ball game. Almost all of the classes that I needed/wanted to take this semester occur at the same time. It took some maneuvering but I’ve finally figured out my schedule. Yes, I’m taking 19 hours. No, I’m not worried. I’ll be taking Art History 1441 (for my art), Chemistry 1001 (because I have to), History 2055 (Into to US History, ew.), Italian 1001 (so excited), EDCI 2001 (Education/Course Instruction class, excited), and Political Science 2051 (Louisiana Politics). All in all I’m really excited for my classes. I cannot wait.

Disposable Cameras!

Disposable cameras are my life, as of lately. I love them so much. My main obsession got started last summer when I met my awesome group of friends. We captured everything on disposable cameras, for the most part. My nice Nikon gets out every now and then to capture some of the timeless moments we all share.  Recently, I brought one to my friends coming home party (for a weekend) and to Theta Formal. I cannot wait to get the pictures developed and be able to share some with you.

A Late Start...

Today I woke at 9. On any other day, this wouldn't be bad, but today I was supposed to be at work for 9. Somehow I threw on clothes, put my contacts in and brushed my hair in 5 minutes and was out the door. Only to get downstairs and realize it's raining. Whatever, threw on my rain jacket and ran to work...well walked quickly. I got there at 9:15. Not too shabby. Although, I'd rather be here:

Friday ! Friday ! Friday !

Theres a blog called The Little Things We Do  and she does a fill in the blank  Friday. So, for this friday:

1.   Fridays are   meant to hang out and be lazy. Cuddle up with someone you love and have a movie marathon.

2.  Flavored Iced Tea, warm days, friends laughter and being in love  make me terribly happy.

3.  Something that inspires me is falling deep into amazing books, listening to music, driving with the windows down, and laughing with friends.

4.  If I had the day off today I would : I do have the day off today! So I'm sleeping until 10, getting dressed, picking up my cousin and boyfriend and going to the family crawfish boil!

5.  If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is  traditional with a hint of modern. It's hard to say really since I don't have my own place yet and I'm kind of just living in my room with everything that I own.

6.  Concerning politics I would say I'm   as of right now, nothing. I'm not huge into politics, and definitely need to learn more about it before I can classify myself as anything.

7.  I'd like to go to       Italy      so I could  soak up all the culture and one day teach English or History in Italy!

Healthy!!

(This photo has nothing to do with anything, I just love it)

Once upon a time, I used to be really really healthy and take awesome care of myself. Then Freshman year of college hit -- not just freshman year though; Architecture. Last semester when I began architecture I slowly but surely let my health down. So now, as my freshman year comes to an end, I'm going to start taking better care of myself by doing a few things:
- Drink 8 glasses of water a day
- Work out at least twice a week
- Wash my face every night
- Sleep at least five hours (hey, this is a lot for me)
- Not eat so many sweets
and last but not least,
- Start putting a little makeup on in the morning again

I feel that as long as you feel good about yourself, that's all that matters. Hopefully I can keep all this up!

...Now off to relax and wait for E (the boyfriend) to get here.

Spring Break 2011!

This week is my Spring Break. It could not come at a better time. Last week I got about 5 tests back. I got A's on 3 of them and B's on 2 of them. Needless to say last week was a good but stressful week.

While I would love to be at the beach right now, sadly I am not. However, that doesn't mean my Spring Break is going to be boring. It started out last friday with a bang! My friend moved into the cutest new apartment and we had a housewarming for him! So much fun! Then, after said party, (really around midnight) I headed into New Orleans. Saturday was filled with a fun day in Nola with friends and family. My brother ended up having a crawfish boil and we stopped by for a minute. Sunday was for relaxing and doing homework, and I headed back early Monday afternoon.

(original New Orleans water meter - a slight obsession)

Today and tomorrow I have work from 7-4, blah for waking up so early, but completely worth it. Although I'm not work as many hours as I would like, that is completely alright with me. Wednesday after work, I'm going home. I cannot wait. I love my dads new house. Thursday, I'll be relaxing and going to a doctors appointment -- no worries just a check up for my knee! Friday will Good Friday, and filled with a crawfish boil.

Who knows what the weekend holds !

Oh Dear God...

So, usually today I would do weekend wrap up. At this time, however, I cannot. As much as I would love to, I have two huge tests tomorrow; both of which I have not studied as hard for as I should have.

This is one of the books I have to read...for tomorrow...(yes, I realize it's inverted. No I couldn't figure out how to uninvert it).

I'm through half of it.

These are my notes for the book...If you look closely you can see "Who the fuck is Spicer-Simon". Yes...that is how I take notes..

Back to studying. I'll get to a weekend wrap up tomorrow hopefully! I had an awesome weekend!

I'm "Studying" Promise...

So this is me, not only 2 hours ago:

What am I doing might you ask? Well I'm studying of course. A friend snapped this on her phone when she came in my room. She giggled then woke me up. This is what happens when I try and read books while laying in bed. From now on, sitting up and paying attention...maybe....

Back to the books!

127 Hours: Aron Ralston

Today, the Delta Gamma sorority here on campus sponsered a talk by Aron Ralston. For those who may not know, the movie 127 Hours was based off of Aron's real life experience. The movie, featuring James Franco, is about how he went out on a adventure trip and ended up with his hand stuck between a boulder and the side of a trench. He has written a book about it, called Between a Rock and a Hard Place. One of my friends has read the book; she said that it was amazing. I am so grateful that DG sponsered the event. Hearing Aron talk was so moving, it almost brought me to tears. Although I haven't seen the movie yet I plan on seeing it soon.

Weekend Wrap Up

To say that this weekend was crazy would be an understatement. This weekend was completely and utterly insane, but in a good way. It all really started on Thursday when we had a study session with some friends. Needless to say we all didn't get much studying done.

Friday was a day full of hot tea and biscuits, no time for anything else really. After class, work, and study sessions I had to work KATfish for CASA, our philanthropy event for Theta. It went wonderfully. We had a really awesome turn out and couldn't keep up with everyone buying plates fast enough! After that, I went have dinner with my little sister and dad and then we went to our new house.

Saturday morning, I had to get my oil changed then my dad and sister and I headed over to our new house to paint rooms. My little sister's room is yellow and mine is light blue. They're so pretty!

Then Saturday night came. Saturday night was my friend Simon's 21st birthday party. We had an awesome time. Even though I didn't get home till around 3 in the morning, it was completely worth it.

Now it's Sunday, aka the day of homework. I have two exams tomorrow that I must begin studying for!
