Merry Christmas!

Today is Christmas! We always spend the mornings opening presents at my dads, drinking coffee, and watching cartoons. Then around 10-11 we head down to New Orleans to go and open Christmas presents with my dads side of the family and then eat a large lunch! I'm so excited. Do you have any Christmas traditions?

The Final Day: Roo Day 4

Today is the final day at Roo! We're expecting to see:

Smith Westerns:

I don't know much about them, but then again my friends really enjoy them so I'm sure it'll be great!

Amos Lee:

I really like him. It should be an amazing show!

Day 3 at Roo!

Today is the third day at Roo! Today we're looking to see:

Old Crow Medicine Crow:

I've heard really great things about them, so needless to say I'm excited to see them!

Portugal the Man:

So. Much. Excitement. I feel that's all I should say.

Mumford and Sons:

I've seen them once already and they were perfect then, so I can't see that anything less would happen this time!

The Black Keys:

I like them a lot. I've heard a little bit of their music and it's really good!

Possibly Eminem...

If he plays his old music, it'll be good. I haven't heard his new stuff. So we shall see...

And either: Girl Talk, Gogol Bordello or STS9

I'm obsessed with Girl Talk so I would love to see him. But these three all play at the same time so it'll really be up to the group and see!

Roo Day 2!

Today is Day 2 at Roo! Today we're tenative to see:

Either Grace Potter and the Nocturnals OR Matt & Kim

I haven't heard much about them, but they both sound really good from what I've heard.

Grace Potter:

The Decemberistis:

People call me crazy, but I'm not a huge fan. I like them, but they make me sleepy! Still excited, nonetheless.

Florence and the Machine:

So. Much. Excitement. I cannot even explain to you how excited I am for this. I lvoe Florence. So much. Honestly, going just to see Florence and the whole camping thing with friends would be enough for me!

Primus:

I have no clue about them. They're just one of those random bands that I decided would be cool!

Arcade Fire:

Oh my gosh. Elliot's favorite band, well one of them. I like them a lot. They're amazing. So excited to see them as well.

Big Boi:

I don't know much about him but Elliot loves him so it's all good. It'll be a good show!

Today's the big day. The cars are packed, we're all ready to go. So very excited. Can't wait until I get there and experience everything firsthand! Although the line will be crazy to get in, it'll be so worth it! It'll be a lot of fun and I can't wait to share it with you!

So Close!

So today is the day, the day before we leave to go to Roo! I am so freaking excited to spend the next six days with some of my closest friends getting to know them better and getting to see a lot of our favorite bands! We've done the shopping, gotten my dads tent all checked out, and packed my bags! Now the only thing left to do is to pack up all the cars and head out on the road! I've got a few scheduled posts for when I'm gone and cut off from everyone and everything.

The Best of Friends

This song has been the soundtrack of my life for the past few weeks. I love it. My friend Crabs (nickname, of course) introduced me to Bon Iver last summer and I completely fell in love. Which brings us to this sumer. Although summer just began, I've already had some of the best nights of the year. A few days ago a group of six of us met up at Coffee Call, our favorite hangout for beignets and coffe, and just sat around and talked for an hour or so. After that, we all piled into one car and just drove. Drove around the city without a destination. We drove for at least an hour or two. Six of us piled into one car and just sat and talked and laughed. Words cannot even explain how much I love these people and what I would give to spend everyday all summer with them.
